Mormons, Catholics, Pentecostals God help us all!
One thing that bothers me most and I believe saddens Jesus heart is the vast discrimination among the Churches, the condescending manner we speak about other christian church doctrines because we do not understand them, their norms, practices and their ways of life.
Recently I came across an android mobile app on my phone called daily bible, it has different devotionals, messages, bible readings both audio and visual. In it I came across a devotion called ‘Daily Bread – Catholic Reflections’ a 10 minute daily message to me, its short, sharp and sweet!. It has a theme, my best so far is one called ‘are you fired up?’ or ‘what is expected of us?’ comes with bible references and questions and challenges your faith. Yes its catholic, yes am a Pentecostal! But so what?
The message of Jesus Christ is the same which ever way you preach it, I don’t get this notion that people have about listening only to catholic messages if you are catholic, or Pentecostals, the halleluyah church!
Oh and don’t even talk about the Mormons!, they are a cult, they are not Christians. What about Anglicans, the Evangeliticals, the Protestants, the Quakers and all the others!
So Catholics worship the Virgin Mary, They have Fathers and Sisters married to chastity
The Pentecostals oh, they speak in tongues, shout too much, bible bashers
Anglicans, Church of England, they ordain women bishops, are political than religious
Quakers, the silent ones!
Church of Mormon, oh they have an additional book of Mormon, baptise the dead, you cant enter their temple, they are secretive etc.
The Seven day Adventists; They worship on saturday and dont take blood
My question is will all these reasons deny them of heaven, does it make them satanic, against God’s Kingdom, are they depopulating God’s Kingdom or populating His Kingdom. Is Jesus Christ their sole Lord and Master, the true Salvation and redeemer. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.Jn14:6
Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything Col 1:18, in the body is the arm, legs, eyes, nose etc. What you like, I might hate, one mans meat is another mans poison. Apostle Paul said ‘we are all one 'The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. 1Cor3:8' so one person is planting another is pruning its all towards the bringing of fruits from a tree.Wouldn’t it be great if all Christians could have one voice and fight the good fight of faith with one passion. The world will certainly be a better place.
I challenge you today to love your neighbour as yourself, we are all God’s children and if just one is lost his heart bleeds for them, why not get to know God’s other children, remember we are ALL adopted sons and daughters of God, all followers of Christ are the adopted family of God and we all have the same right, the same priviledge and the same audience to His throne.
Remember your church identity ends on this earth, its not a ticket to heaven. Whether you are secluded from other people, doctrines, practices is a disadvantage or bonus only here on earth. It might aid you to focus more on God’s requirements for your Life so you could fulfil your purpose and guard you from self destruction and hopelessness. But the choice is always yours to choose.
Bible says it has been put forward to you Life or Death, choose one. This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live Deut 30:19
So my brothers and sisters, why not learn about your brothers out there, there doctrines, visit there church (if you are allowed in!) learn about there practices and get to appreciate God more and love His Kingdom.
Perhaps by doing this, it will aid the coming of our Lord jesus Christ, who is coming to a church with no spots or wrinkles. ABSOLUTE LOVE!
